Use only while parked. Complete setup and operate the phone or Tesla browser only while the vehicle is safely parked. Do not interact with either screen while driving.
What is T3sla Mirror?
An Android app plus this website that stream your phone screen into the Tesla in-car browser. You scan a QR in the car, verify a PIN, then see and control the phone from the car touchscreen via our relay.
What can I use it for?
Ride-hailing apps (Uber, Lyft, and similar), maps, messaging, and other Android apps that are easier on the large car display. DRM video apps often block capture and may show a black screen.
Which phones and Tesla vehicles are supported?
Android phones that can grant screen capture and accessibility (for touch injection). The vehicle needs a working in-car browser — MCU2 or newer. Model year or Model 3 / Y / S / X labels alone are not enough; check that your car’s browser opens https sites.
Is this CarPlay, Android Auto, or AirPlay?
No. T3sla Mirror mirrors the phone framebuffer into the Tesla browser and sends taps back to the phone. It does not add Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or AirPlay to the car.
How do I start a session?
1) Log in on this site and open Connect in the Tesla browser. 2) On the phone, open T3sla Mirror → Scan car QR → Start mirroring. 3) Enter the 6-digit PIN shown on the phone, then use the stream page.
Do I need the phone’s hotspot or a VPN?
No local hotspot relay is required for the current droplet path. Keep mobile data on so the phone can reach t3slamirror.com. The car browser also needs network access to the same site.
Do I need an account?
Yes. T3sla Mirror is a paid service. Sign in at Log in with your account before opening Connect in the Tesla browser.
Can the driver use this while the car is moving?
No. Set up and control only while parked. If a region allows the Tesla browser in Drive, only a passenger should interact — never the driver. Follow your vehicle’s warnings and local law.
Why do Netflix or other apps show a black screen?
Many streaming apps block screen capture for DRM. That is an app/OS restriction, not something T3sla Mirror can bypass. Ride apps, maps, and most non-DRM tools work normally.
Where does my screen data go?
Frames and control messages pass through the T3sla Mirror relay so the car and phone can meet over the public internet. Stop mirroring when you are done. We are not affiliated with Tesla, Inc.
How do I stop or go back to the QR?
On the phone, tap Stop mirroring. In the car viewer, use Disconnect or QR to return to Connect. From Connect you can create a New QR if the phone started a fresh session.
